Yes, send your address and we will do so, of both the
window material which is also used on the lightweight and medium weight
summer doors and also the bespoke material that we sell by the material
and which is also similar to the material on the heavyweight doors.
Yes we regularly send our products to Europe and worldwide.
Postage to Europe is a flat fee of £4.99 whatever you order,

On the lightweight curtains the weights are like leaded
string, but actually quite effective when they are in contact with the
floor. A picture is on the website under flyscreens in more details.
We sell a lot to caravan users and we appreciate the doorways
are narrow. Basically the two pieces of material overlap and the amount
of overlap in up to you. Being 75cm wide that may well be the width
of your door. The material sticks to the Velcro sticks to the door frame
the material is soft enough to stick to the Velcro. At the bottom is
leaded string. However our medium weight door comes with a white UPVC
strip and thicker Velcro at he top so that if there are lots people
going in and out the material won't get dragged off. That can happen
with the lightweight set up. If you dont mind screwing into your
caravan doorway, or using Velcro the heavy duty doors are also ideal.
The material supplied is the same two pieces of 75cm x
220cm, but there is wider Velcro to go across the top of the door frame
and there is piece of UPVC plastic that sandwiches the material to the
door frame, so that if there is lots of traffic through the door or
high winds then it stays in position better.
Yes, but they are not suitable for permanent use outside.
Only very lightly which is why they are called lightweight,
there is some leaded string at the bottom, there is a better picture
on the website. Obviously compared to the Heavy Duty Curtain which has
substantial weights there is no comparison, but provided you make sure
that the curtain hits the floor then it is surprisingly effective. If
you have plenty of overlap then the curtains don't really blow open
unless there is a gale. Ultimatey tthough the heavy duty curtains are
best...
I'm afraid that we do not sell the strips separately so
you would need to buy two as they can be mounted together. The alternative
is to make your own door cover with the bespoke material which cuts
very cleanly with sharp scissors or a knife. It is 1.2m wide and we
can cut it into metre lengths at £4.99 a metre. However you would
have to work out how to fit it to the door frame and possibly weight
it at the bottom. We are happy to send you a sample.
No problem especially the heavy duty ones as they are
made of UPVC and the curtains is glass fibre and are very durable and
easily cleaned. The Budget door material is softer polyester/cotton
and more likely to degrade although it is UV resistant. In the UK climate
though we would not leave outside in winter. It comes with brackets
so that you can simply unclip it if required and store away.
The door can be adjusted to fit up to a maximum of 95cm
wide, the budget doors will fit a gap of 100cm. The UPVC strip can be
cut to fit and how closely you overlap the strips is up to you. There
are some explanatory pictures on our website (flyscreens
in detail) which shows the heavy duty flyscreens in more detail.
The UPVC rail is white, the weights at the bottom are
black and there are two black end pieces at the end of the rail. The
mesh is only available in grey/Charcoal, but the advantage is that this
is easier to see through that as white actually reflects light.
To attach the weight we would recommend that you use pliers.
First wrap a cloth or rag around the weight and you will here it snap
together. Do this along the length of the weight. There is no reason
why the material should shred as you describe.
The only difference between the curtains is the colour
the blue ones are all blue and as it is an end of range item it has
been reduced in price.
The budget screen has pre fitted weights which are lighter
than the more expensive one and the material is more like plain netting,
whereas the more expensive one is heavier polyester type. Also the plastic
is a tad lighter. However, fitting the budget screen is just that bit
easier.
You could get one of our Medium weight/Summer doors which
has a UPVC strip at the top plus Velcro at the sides and just two pieces
of material that overlap(making it much harder for moggie to get through),
but you would need to clip these together and at the bottom put lots
of books or a plank of wood. There is plenty of material with each piece
measuring 75cm wide by 220cm long.
Yes, but only the heavy duty, they may drag the lightweight
ones down and find it more difficult to get through the overlap, the
summer doors are much stronger though.
It will pull off, although it is tough to pull off then
use some solvent (white spirit, goo gone, paint thinnners, but please
check with your window suppliers (especially UVPC) that this is OK as
we cannot be held responsible for you using the uncorrect product to
clean off the glue.
You simply peel the material away and pull the window
shut. Provided you do not tug roughly at the material it is very durable
and we have used the same material all year on our windows for many
seasons.
As for the stay it depends how far in it extends. If you
have enough material it will fit around the bracket. The crucial part
is that the material fit snugly to the Hook and Loop tape to make a
close join. We cannot say how much more material you would need that
is your judgement.
Yes it is included with the window packs. But you can
buy extra Hook and Loop tape by the metre which is double the width
and can be cut in half doubling the 1 metre length to two metres.
The reason why people go for Charcoal is that it is easier
to see through because it does not reflect the light. The 100 x 100
size is not available in Charcoal, only in the 130 x 150 size.
They are 1mm square.
The standard window kits we have do not need frames. the
100 x 100 and 130 x 150 operate by simply putting velcro around the
window frame and then putting the material on top and cutting to size.
The bespoke mesh that we sell by the metere is harder and does not stick
so well to Velcro as that is designed to be used in frames, but they
can be fixed above the windows and used in the way you suggest but how
you design it is up to you.
We never guarantee that our screens are cat proof. They
could scratch or eat their way through them if they wanted as it is
only material not metal. The flaps mean that a cat can get through although
it is possible to batten the strips together which customers have done,
but yet again not 100 per cent cat proof.
The material is washable and would be okay outside, but
I could not guarantee how long the velcro would last. Depending on the
gap between the hinge and window you might be able to put the Velcro
in the gap and then the mesh would be inside.
The bespoke Charcoal material is available in 1.2m wide
sizes and the number of metres is up to you. It is very easy for you
to cut into strips, or for an overlapping doorway with a sharp knife
or scissors and it it will not fray. If you want a sample we are happy
to post some to you.
The heavy duty charcoal material is sold by the metre
at £4.99. The price for a 25 metre roll is £110 including
postage and packing saving £14.75 on the metre price. The price
for a 50 metre roll is £210 including postage and packing saving
£39.50 on the metre price. Payment for the roll though is only
by cheque at this favourable price.
The manufacturer description is 'fire resistant' which
we understand to mean that under normal circumstances it won't simply
catch fire, but if someone was to hold a naked flame to it then eventually
it will catch.
As for fixing the material that is up to you. We sell
this to people who usually want to make frames. It is possible to use
Velcro on either side, but there are no guarantees that it will work.
Our packs of 100 x 100 and 130 x 150 are specifically designed to stick
to the supplied Velcro and the material is much softer.
Certainly it would be possible to fix the material at
the top and weight it at the bottom, although it is stiffer and heavier
than net curtain so does does not blow open so easily, but we can make
no recommendations.
