The Best Way To Cook Debate Settled!

Cooking is a big debate. You’ve got the people telling you that you shouldn’t cook using microplastics, the people telling you that you should eat only a carnivore diet, and the people telling you to not cook at all and fast for five days—you don’t know where to turn!

One thing we’re sure of: cooking is not just a life skill; it is an art, a science, and sometimes a battlefield. Everyone has an opinion on the “best” way to cook, be it about saving money, using a divine Range Exchange cooker, or eating healthier. The good news? We’re here to settle the cooking debate once and for all—or at least give you some tasty food for thought.

One-Pot Meals: Save Money Without Sacrificing Flavour

The budget-friendly cooking champion is a one-pot meal. Why? Fewer ingredients plus fewer messes equals maximum flavor. Soups, stews, and casseroles all taste incredible. This one isn’t so much of a debate; it’s a fact. One of the best ways you can cook is a one-pot meal. And who likes the washing up?

There’s no need for costly meat cuts or fancy gadgets—just one pot and sometimes a nice oven, and you’re ready. You can find so many one-pot meals and cookbooks online that you’ll never be short of things to cook.

The magic of one-pot meals lies in their versatility. Have some leftover chicken? Put it in a pot with pasta and tinned tomatoes and garnish with cheese before baking quickly. Or take those veggies that have started wilting in your fridge, add lentils and broth to them—voilà—you have got yourself a delicious hearty soup!

Go Organic

Cooking requires high-quality ingredients—we’ll settle that debate now. There’s absolutely no question that you can tell the difference between high-quality ingredients and low-quality ones. Sorry, Aldi, you might be cheaper, but your fruit and vegetables need a new provider!

It may cost more for organic food, but it’s worth it. And, in fact, if you have a local butcher you’ll find the prices of meat there are comparable to supermarkets and it feels like real meat. We’re all well aware that supermarkets pump their meats full of water and additives! Try taking a trip to your local butcher (if you have one) and compare the price and quality.

Some people also like the sense of satisfaction when you know that your shopping habits support sustainable agriculture.

In case you are still undecided on whether to go organic, try it gradually. Just replace strawberries or spinach that are normally high in pesticide content with their organic counterparts. Your taste buds will appreciate this decision.

Olive Oil vs. Butter? Air Fryer vs. Pan Frying? Let’s Settle It

Ah, the age-old olive oil vs. butter debate - we hope there’s no Mediterranean people reading.

Olive oil, especially extra virgin, is great for low-to-medium heat cooking and gives dishes a fresh and fruity flavor. Lower and high temperatures are best when making something rich and savoury with butter. When working with very high temperatures, use avocado oil—it does not taste of anything but will not burn. Sadly, olive oil burns at high temperatures.

The final debate - air fryer or pan-frying? Air fryers are a cult trend. They’re a healthier choice if you’re watching your fat intake, but sometimes nothing beats the flavour and texture of a pan-fried dish. In our opinion, ovens are better.

What is the “perfect” way of cooking? There isn’t one - debate settled. Cooking is altogether an individual affair and not universally applicable to people. Cook how you want, but cook with high-quality tools and ingredients.
