Do I need to drill to fit a flyscreen door?
Most of our door screens attach with adhesive hook-and-loop tape - no drilling required. The Lightweight Flyscreen Door, Magnetic Flyscreen Door, and Chain Flyscreen Door all fit this way. Aluminium-framed doors and panel doors use a frame that may require a couple of screws. Every product page shows exactly how it fits.
What size do I need?
Measure the width of your door opening from inside the frame, and the height from the floor to the top of the frame. Standard UK door openings are 80–90cm wide, and most of our standard screens cover up to 100cm or 120cm wide. For openings wider than 120cm, look at our panel door range or adjustable magnetic screen. For sash windows, email us with measurements - bespoke is often the best option.
Will fly screens keep out midges?
Standard flyscreen mesh will stop flies, mosquitoes, and most insects, but midges can pass through standard mesh due to their tiny size. For midge-prone areas (particularly the Scottish Highlands), you need our Midge Mesh material, which has a finer weave specifically designed to block midges.
Can I get a flyscreen cut to size?
Yes. Our mesh material is sold per metre and can be cut to custom lengths. For a fully custom door or window screen, email us with photos and measurements and we will advise on the best solution.
How long does delivery take?
Most orders are dispatched within 1–3 working days and delivered within 1–3 working days of dispatch. So you should typically receive your order within 2–6 working days. What if my screen does not fit?
Contact us before returning anything. Most fitting issues can be resolved with a quick call or email - we have fitted thousands of screens and can usually suggest a solution. If the item is genuinely unsuitable, we will arrange a return and refund in line with our returns policy.
Are magnetic door screens pet-proof?
Our standard magnetic screens are not designed to stop determined pets. They are a barrier against insects, not animals. For a pet-proof barrier, look at a framed aluminium door or panel door, which offer a more solid frame. For mesh replacement, our Pet Mesh is a heavy-duty option that resists claws.
Do you supply commercial flyscreen doors?
Yes. Our Commercial Flyscreen Door is a heavy-duty chain curtain screen designed for commercial kitchens, food businesses, and warehouses - applications where a solid physical barrier is needed to comply with pest control regulations. It is also available in silver, grey, and silverblue colour options.
Will my flyscreen look exactly like the photos?
The flyscreen itself (frame, mesh, fixings) will match the size and colour variant you order. The doorways, rooms and gardens shown in our photos are examples to help you picture the product in use. Yours will fit your opening, not the one in the photo. If you have any doubts about appearance or fit, email a photo of your doorway to info@flyscreenqueen.co.uk and we'll confirm before you order.
Can I return my order?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery for standard products, subject to our returns policy. Custom-cut items cannot be returned unless faulty. See our Returns & Refunds page for full details.
